Bredonborough Five sets of visitors

10.16

Bredonborough.

Five sets of visitors to our home, have arrived / are arriving this morning.

The first: Sky. Two Sky engineers arrived to do the same job, both without the box that I had requested but with the one that had not been ordered. The Sky+ box is crap, I am reliably informed, which explains why these suckers collapse after 12 months.

Secondly, joiners arrived with bookshelves & a fitted door that had not been painted in accordance with instructions.

It is a rarity in my life when a job is done right the first time.

Thirdly, a carpenter to fit tracks for carrying voiles in the Saloon, plus the fitter of voiles, who has to leave for a yoga class & return later, and the person organising & supervising the work.

Fourthly, our wonderful cleaning lady.

Fifthly, the polisher will arrive later to tickle the small bangs & knocks that occur when bookshelves are transported.

10.19  Two joiners have just left, carrying away the door that was incorrectly painted; but having moved large bookcases in the cellar in the wrong direction.

12.11  Joiners & polisher have arrived & left again. More knocking at the front door, more various comings & goings. A CD has arrived from Mr. Gordon Stomach with F&E unreleased mixes. Voiles are being fitted as I type.

I took advantage of a short lull in activities to visit a Bring & Buy sale down the street & purchased a wonder fruit cake made, and donated to the worthy cause, by a friend & neighbour.

The Slinky Minx & I have received a suggested tea date at the Estonian embassy in London, to discuss the possibility of a Soundscape tour of Estonian churches with the ambassador.

14.05    The voile fitter has left, good work done. The main joiner called to say that
the tracks, on which the bookshelves rest, are the wrong kind. They will have to be refitted. The joiners will return tomorrow morning.

14.29  Carrboro Arts Centre, the first of the Soundscapes Do Dixie! tour, is vibrant.

15.06  Time is standing still, with yearning & wishing very present.

18.07  Fripp & Eno’s Unreleased Works Of Startling Genius now underway.

18.16  Yow! This is ace!
